For my field work, I am doing work study at the Mary Hayes Center. At the center, I am teaching the first grade students. I am in my own classroom setting, so it is kind of like a real classroom. When we first get to the center, we have to make sure that we fix the meals for the students. Once the meals are fixed we wait for the buses to get to the center. When the students arrive at the center, they eat and then they go to their classrooms. Like I said earlier, I have 1st grade so I take them to my classroom. Each student must complete all of their homework before they go home. I have about 8 to 9 students in my classroom. In my classroom, I observe some of the differences that my students have. They are all so different. Sometimes I have to help more of my students more than to others. Each day that i go to work at the center is so different than the last. Each day there is something new going on with the students. But I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to work at this center. I have grown so attached to these students that it is going to be hard to leave the center once I graduate. I have been with this center for a year an a half now and I wouldn't change a thing. The center as really changed the way that i look at teachers. Being a teacher is going to be a really hard job, but i believe that i have the passion to do it.
